About Mount Milligan Mine
Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an
Senior Reliability Engineer to join our
Mount Milligan Mine (MTM) operations site.
This role operates on a rotation of
14 days on / 14 days off at a 12-hour daily schedule with camp accommodations provided.
The Senior Reliability Engineer reporting to Mill Reliability Superintendent will work with the mill operations and maintenance teams to enhance the availability and effectiveness of mill assets. This role leads predictive and preventative maintenance programs, condition-based monitoring, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives, and cross-functional continuous improvement projects across the processing plant.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Drive the predictive and preventative maintenance process, including data translation, analysis, and report generation.
- Participate in and advocate for Condition Based Monitoring, including data translation and analysis (Bentley APM).
- Coordinate, interpret, report, and communicate failure analyses through various data sources.
- Lead and work within cross-functional teams (engineering, maintenance, operations) to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) engagements.
- Lead the application of improvement processes to enhance asset performance.
- Develop scope, gather quotes, and commission improvement projects.
- Supervise, actively coach, and train condition monitoring and lubrication technicians.
- Ensure efficient and reliable operation of plant, process, and equipment while protecting and prolonging the economic life of plant assets.
- Contribute to overall maintenance department efficiency by performing other technical functions as assigned by supervisor..
About You
The following will be critical to successfully perform this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist; P.Eng. designation preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the processing plant of a mining operation.
- Demonstrated experience using vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and NDT technologies.
- Experience applying Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles.
- Familiarity with OSIsoft PI and DeltaV systems is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Minitab for data analysis.
- Proficient with integrated maintenance management systems; familiarity with SAP is an asset.
- Exposure to project coordination with the ability to make sound project decisions.
- Effective leadership skills to build a strong employee culture.
- Self-starter with a high-performance attitude and strong work ethic.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety as an essential requirement.
Working Conditions
- Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 14x14, 12 hours per day
- Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration
- Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO – TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site
- Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Prince George, Fort St. James and Mackenzie
