Your Impact
As the treasury operations leader for Newmont you will oversee global cash management, daily liquidity, investments, and intercompany funding and loan administration across multiple continents and time zones with a focus on capital preservation. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring a stable, well-controlled operating environment while modernizing treasury processes and technology, including enhancing Newmont’s Treasury Management System (TMS), strengthening SAP integration, and transitioning cash flow forecasting into the TMS.
As part of our team, you will
- Lead global cash positioning and liquidity across banks, currencies, and jurisdictions; oversee short-term investments and hedging as applicable; optimize cash concentration, funding structures, and bank account governance; and deliver daily cash visibility, variance reporting, and strong SOX-compliant controls.
- Own global cash flow forecasting across horizons, including governance, accuracy, and variance analysis; modernize forecasting by transitioning from Excel to TMS; partner with Finance to improve data quality and standardization; provide clear liquidity insights to senior leadership; and manage Treasury’s internal budget and forecast.
- Manage intercompany loans, partnering with Accounting on tracking, settlement, and reconciliation; ensure compliance with tax, legal, and accounting requirements; and collaborate with Tax and Legal to optimize capital structures and transactions.
- Own and enhance TMS operations, including SAP integration; partner with IT to resolve issues and improve performance; lead system enhancements and potential RFP/selection efforts; and drive global automation and standardization of treasury processes.
- Maintain strong internal controls and SOX compliance; support audits and remediate findings; strengthen operational resilience and continuity planning; and lead and develop global Treasury Operations teams while fostering a collaborative, high-accountability, and team-oriented culture.
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; 15+ years of multinational treasury operations experience; deep expertise in global cash, liquidity, and investments; strong cash flow forecasting and process improvement experience; advanced SAP and TMS expertise; strong knowledge of intercompany funding and global tax; proven leadership managing treasury teams; and strong internal controls and audit experience.
- CTP or ACT certification preferred, along with experience leading TMS implementations/RFPs and exposure to global bank connectivity solutions.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented leader with strong systems and process knowledge, analytical and forecasting capability, collaborative communication style, and sound judgment with a strong control mindset.
Your work environment
This role is based on-site at our Denver, Colorado headquarters and operates in a highly collaborative, global environment with internal finance, strategy, legal, and regional teams, as well as external banking partners, central banks, and joint venture stakeholders. Approximately 10% travel, including international travel, is expected. This position is eligible for relocation assistance.
