About Mount Milligan Mine
Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About The Opportunity
The Health and Safety Administrator provides clerical, coordination, and administrative support to the Health, Safety and Security Department at Mount Milligan Mine. This role supports efficient daily operations by managing documentation, communications, scheduling, and reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support to the health, safety and security (HSS) team
- Prepare reports, presentations, documents and other correspondence
- Update and maintain the HSS SharePoint site and maintain safety boards and binders
- Maintain Mine Net system providing HSS information to employees and contractors
- Provide administrative support to the Joint Occupational Safety and Health Committee (JOSHC)
- Maintain organized filing systems (electronic and hard copy) for safety documentation
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive operational and personnel information
- Coordinate meetings, training, calendars, lodge bookings, and travel arrangements for department personnel
- Support onboarding, including safety orientation, and access logistics for new employees and contractors (badging, documentation, orientation scheduling)
- Act as a communication liaison between the HSS team, other departments, and external stakeholders
- Attend meetings, record actions, take minutes, as required, and distribute accordingly
- Support department roles when required due to absences
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data entry and reporting
- Support HSS and other departments with data entry for HSS programs
- Assist with compiling regular and ad hoc HSS reports
- Assist with maintaining and uploading training records
- Support and assist with month-end safety reporting, including data consolidation, preparation of summary reports, and downloading and compiling documentation for management reporting
- Support incident management and investigation documentation
- Follow-up on outstanding actions, incidents and investigations with other departments and external agencies
- Assist with procurement processes, including purchase requisitions, invoice tracking and entry, and vendor coordination
- Ensure documents meet regulatory and company compliance standards
- Provide administrative support to maintain smooth day-to-day operations within the department
About You
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary certificate or diploma in administration or business preferred
- 2–5 years of administrative experience, preferably in safety, mining, industrial, or heavy industry environments
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with ERP, CMMS, or document management systems considered an asset
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working Conditions
- Camp based role working 12-hour days on a 7 days on/7 days off rotation or a 14 days on 14 days off rotation. Lodging and meals are provided on site.
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
- PPE always required.
- Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
- Free Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
