About the Job:
The Company is seeking a General Supervisor – Mobile Equipment Maintenance for its Rochester Mine in Lovelock, Nevada. The General Supervisor will assist in implementation and management of preventative and corrective maintenance systems for mobile fleets. Rochester fleet of equipment include a Komatsu PC4000 and Hitachi 2600 face shovels, three CAT 994K loaders, twenty-six CAT 789 Haul Trucks, two CAT 6250 Drills, two DML Drills, one Epiroc 235 Viper Drill, six CAT D10 Dozers and miscellaneous support Water Trucks, Graders, RTD equipment and an assortment of medium and light duty vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely and mentor the Mobile Maintenance Supervisors to follow all planned work throughout the shift as well as how to manage the reactive workload that may occur.
- Enforce compliance with the weekly planning schedule and planned work order management.
- Promote timely, efficient, and effective execution of PM services. Responsible for oversight and monitoring of scheduled major repair outages (PCR’s) and similar projects. Works closely with shift supervisors and contractors to identify and manage bottlenecks, functional capability gaps and constraints with these projects to ensure that actions are in place to deliver results consistent with the department dashboard key performance indicator (KPI) metrics.
- Recommend and implement changes as needed to ensure continuous improvement in the areas of project execution and efficient work practices.
- Responsible for ensuring Maintenance team is equipped with required parts, workforce, and logistics for successful execution of work.
- Be a mentor for crew lineouts, assist in effective safety meetings and assist in daily work plans, ensuring quality work is being performed, as well as compliance to work plan.
- Work closely with the Sr. Mobile Maintenance Trainer to ensure employee development by recognizing employee strengths and weaknesses, be highly involved in identifying technical training needs by working closely with the mobile maintenance training department assisting with employee upwards progression through continuous improvement opportunities, to include Front-line Supervisors.
- Be highly involved in both employee recognition as well as disciplinary actions.
- Be highly involved in setting priorities for the weekly planned maintenance schedule, work closely with the Mine Operations team to ensure equipment needs are being met collaboratively and that availability goals are met.
- Work closely with the Planning Group and fellow General Supervisors to monitor actual costs vs. budget to remain within monthly and annual objectives.
- Work closely with the Mobile Maintenance Planning Department to ensure all major and minor components are documented internally and staged for core credit returns or rebuilds timely.
- Work closely and continuously monitors warehouse inventory for slow moving items, while recommending the correct inventory is updated on a regular basis.
- Work closely with the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent and act as a fill-in as necessary.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in an open pit mining maintenance environment with a focus on all aspects of mobile mining equipment.
- The perfect candidate will have hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic of large mobile equipment to include shovels and drills.
- The perfect candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience as a front-line mobile maintenance supervisor in an open pit mine.
- 5+ years Planning and Scheduling knowledge, using CMMS programs. Oracle R12 preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel computer programs.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Must have the ability to present information in a manner that is clear, understandable and respectful.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with the Mine Operations group and Management on all maintenance issues.
- Ability to work with the planning and reliability teams to assist in reporting fleet availability numbers weekly and monthly.
- Willing and able to work a modified work schedule that may include weekends.
- Maintaining a valid driver’s license is required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
