Supervisor - Electrical - Electrical Site Services
About The Role
Reporting to the
Superintendent – Electrical and Distribution and position provides direct supervision and technical support to the Site Services maintenance team, ensuring maintenance, fault finding, installations and breakdown response activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with PNG and relevant AS/NZS standards. The role supports plant reliability and continuity of essential site infrastructure including camps, kitchens, laundries, water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants and associated facilities.
In this role, you will.
- Supervise and coordinate the Site Services electrical maintenance team to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard.
- Ensure electrical installations, maintenance activities and breakdown response comply with applicable PNG and AS/NZS standards, supporting essential site infrastructure including camps, kitchens, laundries, WTP, STP and associated facilities.
- Provide technical guidance, training and oversight to tradespersons, trade assistants and trainees. Monitor safety performance, verify work documentation is completed, manage contractors when assigned and provide formal handover to the back-to-back supervisor, Electrical Foreman and Superintendent.
- Assist with complex fault finding and escalation of critical safety, production, compliance or essential services issues as required.
- Support planned maintenance execution, ensure work is adequately scoped prior to execution and confirm completed work meets operational and statutory requirements.
About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences
:
Essential
- Electrical Trade Certificate
- NEA Licence
- Current PNG Driver’s Licence
- Experience in camp, facilities, utilities, water treatment, sewage treatment, mining or heavy industry maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, procedures, manuals and technical specifications
- Understanding of PNG mining legislation and relevant AS/NZS electrical standards
- Experience with fault finding planned maintenance and breakdown response across fixed facilities and utility systems
Desirable
- High Voltage Switching Certificate
- Low Voltage Rescue and CPR Certificate
- Oracle & SAP knowledge
- Instrumentation and control systems knowledge
- Experience with water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, pump systems and associated controls
- Experience supervising electrical maintenance teams
- Experience managing contractors and work execution in a fixed plant, facilities or site services environment
