Responsibilities
Role Overview
Experienced Underground Charge Up Operators are required to support development and production activities at Scotia Mine. This role is suited to operators with a strong safety focus and proven experience in underground charging and blasting.
Key Responsibilities
- Charge development and production headings in line with mine plans
- Conduct safe and efficient underground blasting activities
- Handle, transport, and store explosives in accordance with site procedures
- Conduct pre- and post-blasting inspections
- Maintain accurate blast records and reporting
- Work closely with Jumbo operators and production crews
- Ensure compliance with safety systems and statutory requirements
- Identify and report hazards, incidents, and non-conformances
- Maintain high housekeeping standards underground
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as an Underground Charge Up Operator / Shotfirer
- Experience in development and production charging
- Current WA Shotfirer Licence (essential)
- Dangerous Goods Licence (preferred)
- Strong understanding of underground blasting procedures
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to work FIFO roster
