Your Next Challenge
As an Intern reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, you are integrated into the Exploration Geology Department and collaborate closely with other Departments of the operation. Your role will involve ensuring the achievement of set goals and objectives while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental values.
Tasks
- Participate in exploration diamond drilling and surface exploration programs at various stages of mineral development;
- Execute technical tasks related to core reception and logging;
- Assist project geologists with logging of drill core;
- Plan / execute field work consisting of prospecting, geological reconnaissance and mapping, stripping, trenching and channel sampling;
- Keep databases up to date for surface exploration and diamond drilling data;
- Compile and incorporate historical data into databases from multiple sources to improve geological interpretations and maps;
- Provide support to supervisors to generate maps, presentations, 3D modelling updates, etc.;
- Interact with specific contractors, participate in drill inspections;
- Assist surveyors and field technicians in their daily tasks;
- Participate in health & safety meetings and ensure that environmental and safety protocols are followed on the work sites.
What You Need To Succeed

- Student, currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Geological Sciences, or a related field.
- A valid driver's license is essential
- Previous mining industry experience is an asset.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and team-building abilities.
Your Work Schedule
- The internship is located at 72 Upper Canada Drive, Dobie, ON.
- The schedule is on a 14-7 rotation (14 days of work followed by 7 days of rest).
- A shared apartment is provided for interns.
