Purpose of Role:
Reporting to the Training Superintendent, the Compliance Trainer I is primarily responsible for delivering and documenting mandatory health, safety, and regulatory training, ensuring the Copper World project remains in strict compliance with all MSHA regulations
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Stands as a courageous safety leader by promoting and supporting the creation of a strong safety culture and safe practices and leading by example.
- Delivers and facilitates New Miner Training, Annual Refresher Training, New Hire Orientation, and site-specific hazard awareness programs to employees and contractors.
- Delivers technical training such as LOTOTO (Hazardous Energy Isolation), Working From Heights, Confined Space etc.
- Documents all competency assessment information and ensures standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance.
- Maintains rigorous and accurate records of compliance training events for MSHA auditing purposes.
- Participates in safety initiatives, toolbox meetings, hazard identification, and incident investigations.
- Provides regular updates and feedback to the Training Superintendent on compliance metrics and logistical issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or GED and five years of related mine operational experience.
- Current MSHA Approved Instructor Certification (IS) / Blue Card.
- Experience in delivering training packages, utilizing adult learning theories/styles appropriate to the workforce.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint.
- Ability to work & multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and meet all other requirements of the job.
- Can move over uneven terrain.
- The ability to work in different environmental conditions.
- Positive work ethic.
- Maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to lead, motivate, manage and grow the team
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Have reliable personal transportation to the site location (transportation at the site will be in company vehicles).
- Ability to travel for additional training, certifications, and or conferences
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current MSHA certification
- Learning Management System experience
- An Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, or a related field.

The work environment will necessitate work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions such as hot and/or dry conditions. Work will be conducted in locations where noise, fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration may exist.
Employee will be expected to drive a company vehicle, rental vehicle and/or his/her own vehicle in the course of performing the job. Employee must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle, including use of eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet. Employee must be able to prove that he/she has a current and valid driver's license.
