Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Supervisor, Information Technology, you will be part of the Information Technology Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Repair, Install, configure and maintain Nunavut telecommunication installations which includes telecommunication towers infrastruction;
- Install, configure, and maintain RF systems, antennas, and cabling, including work at heights;
- Diagnose and repair RF/microwave components, amplifiers, and two‑way radio systems;
- Perform signal strength tests, sweep tests, and data analysis using equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers;
- Maintain, install and support UHF Radio Communication systems (Infrastructure and Programming);
- Design, install and support, battery backup Systems (UPS);
- Fiber optics and cabling installation, repairing and maintenance;
- Maintain and put in place CATV System design & distributions;
- Maintain and participate into the deployment of LTE Communication system;
- Ensure FM Broadcast music functionality and proper configuration;
- Manage Industry Canada license and ensure laws and regulation are respected;
- With the help of the IT/OT Analysts, calculate and deploy different microwave links;
- Manage other means of communication for Surface and Underground communication infrastructure (i.e. DOCSIS, Wi-Fi, systems, LTE, etc.);
- Provide technical support to internal clients;
- Maintain accurate records of site surveys, maintenance activities, and equipment configurations.
What You Need To Succeed
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Radio and RF Communication field;
- College degree with a specialization in telecommunications or equivalent work experience;
- General knowledge of RF basics (spectrum analyzer, filtration devices, modulation, etc.);
- Strong ability to work without supervision and a strong capacity for teamwork are essential;
- Available for travel to the site in Nunavut;
- Office software knowledge: Microsoft Office 365 essential;
- Knowledge or experience in managing Sepura radios (TETRA) is an asset;
- Knowledge or experience with cellular (LTE) technology is an asset;
- Knowledge or experience with technical drawing (CAD, Deswik, etc.) is an asset;
- Amateur Radio Certification an asset.
Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
