Your Contribution
As the Principal, Program Management (HSSE), you will support the Group Head of Health, Safety, Security and Environment in driving transformative strategic programs across the organization. This role serves as a key advisor and program leader, ensuring enterprise-wide HSSE initiatives are effectively governed, executed, communicated, and aligned with business objectives.
As part of our team, you will
- Lead program management activities for strategic HSSE initiatives, including execution oversight, progress tracking, and reporting to executive leadership.
- Develop and coordinate special projects and programs that support organizational HSSE objectives.
- Create executive-level presentations, board materials, reports, and communications for senior leadership audiences.
- Facilitate transformation initiatives by establishing objectives, tracking milestones, and resolving program challenges.
- Partner with the Group Head HSSE to develop leadership agendas, governance processes, performance metrics, and KPIs.
- Identify program risks, implement mitigation plans, and ensure continuous monitoring of emerging issues.
- Support the development of functional objectives, strategic roadmaps, and performance measures across HSSE teams.
- Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support change management and strategic program delivery.
- Partner with Enterprise Communications to develop and deliver HSSE messaging to internal and external audiences.
- Provide proactive issue identification and solution development to support successful execution of business priorities.
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate degree or MBA preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, enterprise-wide strategic programs and initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Health, Safety, Security, Environment, Sustainability, and the mining value chain.
- Experience preparing executive-level reports, board papers, and presentation materials.
- Experience working with senior leaders and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- Knowledge of project management frameworks, governance structures, and organizational change management.
- Ability to identify strategic risks, develop mitigation plans, and drive execution across multiple workstreams.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and executive presentation development.
Working Conditions
- This role operates in a highly collaborative corporate environment, partnering with executive leadership, HSSE professionals, business leaders, communications teams, consultants, and contractors. The position focuses on enterprise strategy, governance, transformation programs, and continuous improvement initiatives that support organizational performance and sustainability objectives.
- This position follows a hybrid work model and is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
The salary range offered for this role is USD $143,200- 204,500. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
