The Team
The Asset Planning function is responsible for the delivery of effective maintenance plans and schedules designed to maximise the efficiency of site maintenance teams and drive improved equipment performance. The Asset Planning Supervisor - Mobile will be responsible for managing the onsite team of Asset Planners in preparing short, medium and long maintenance plans and schedules and managing the Work Management Coordinators to ensure timely arrival of parts and execution of work orders.
Key outcomes include
- Provide direct management of a team of Asset Planners and Work Management Coordinators to support the preparation of long and short-term plans and schedules to optimise costs, improve efficiency and drive equipment reliability and availability for a mine or process department
- Manage the relationship between execution and planning teams to support safe and efficient execution of the plan
Essential Duties
- Manages asset planners in the preparation of short, medium and long term maintenance plans (to be executed in the 2+ week range) based on site priority, focused on reducing down-time and maintenance costs
- Manages asset planners in the development of plans for resources (parts and materials, equipment, tools, and labor) for execution of maintenance plans
- Manages work management coordinators to ensure strong engagement between site and central teams and to support site execution teams
- Ensure frequent and collaborative communication between Asset Planners and on-site Work Management Coordinators to develop and transition draft schedules to sites teams
- Coordinates with Supply Chain to ensure timely ordering and allocation of parts and materials
- Monitors Adherence to Plan and Identifies Improvement Areas
- Ensures and monitors the correct use of the ERP systems
- Monitor adherence to planning and scheduling processes and reviews performance KPI’s with asset planners
- Monitors planning and scheduling KPIs and targets including deviations from maintenance plan and communicates insights to Regional Planning leads
- Collaborate with Strategic planning and OSN teams to identify needs for equipment strategies or Life Cycle Cost Models reviews and ensure updates are rolled out
- Develops and distributes compliance to schedule, work process metrics and backlog reports to site and central AM stakeholders
- Continuously identify and drive opportunities to improve planning activities and implement best practise updates and changes
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and development for Asset Planner and Work Management Coordinator direct reports
About You
- Demonstrable experience in a heavy industry
- Experience with manual and computerised maintenance planning systems
- Experience leading a team and implementing Asset Management principles and best practices
- Thorough knowledge of maintenance principles and industry standards
- Thorough knowledge of the work management process
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to drive performance improvement initiatives in a complex and global organisation
- An ability to quickly assess information to diagnose problems and opportunities, with a track record of strong professional judgement and critical thinking
- Demonstrated ability to create data-driven business decisions
- Ability to work collaboratively in a muti-discipline, high performing team
