Village Plumber:
Reporting to the Supervisor Asset Management, NPI Camp, the Village Plumber will play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality facilities. In this permanent position, you’ll ensure compliance with Australian Standards and regulatory requirements, uphold the highest safety practices, and collaborate across departments to deliver operational excellence. Your commitment to integrity, proactive maintenance, and customer-focused service will help us create a safe and reliable environment for all.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure all plumbing works comply with Australian Standards AS/NZS 3500 and all gas works comply with AS/NZS 5601.1:2013, as well as State and Local Government regulations and requirements.
- Conduct workplace inspections as required and follow up to close out improvement actions.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and health by promoting safety and environmental awareness, eliminating or controlling risks, and adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain integrity in all duties to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain facilities at a high level of operational efficiency and deliver a positive customer experience.
- Monitor the condition of tools, equipment, and materials, and arrange repairs or replacements as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure daily KPIs are met.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders and timesheets in SAP.
- Operate in accordance with Newmont’s safety, environmental, and community standards, including Indigenous People Policy.
- Demonstrate leadership by mentoring team members and promoting safe work practices.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- WA Gas Fitters License.
- C-Class Manual Driver’s License.
- Experienced in building repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to perform plumbing maintenance on existing facilities and construct new installations.
- Knowledge and experience in maintaining & operating a wastewater treatment plant.
- Experience with RO water filtration plants (highly desirable).
- Knowledge of maintenance and repairs to industrial kitchen appliances.
- Experience with poly welding (highly desirable).
- Versatility to work both in the village and on site.
- Certificates & Tickets: Restricted Electrical (highly desirable), Working at Heights (W@H), Confined Space, Excavator (highly desirable), Gas Servicing, RPZ, High Risk Work License.
