Job Purpose:
The Lead Engineer, AI & Machine Learning, plays a critical role in shaping the organization's AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics strategy. This position is responsible for providing expert guidance and leadership on all aspects of AI/ML architecture, initiatives, and the integration of advanced technologies to drive operational excellence. The Lead Engineer works closely with business stakeholders, engineers, IT professionals, and cross-functional teams to ensure that AI and ML efforts align with organizational goals and deliver measurable business value.
🔑Key Accountabilities:
- Designing and developing AI and machine learning solutions that support business requirements and operational efficiency
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand AI/ML needs and develop solutions that align with strategic objectives
- Defining and implementing governance processes to ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of AI-driven systems
- Evaluating and recommending new tools and technologies to enhance AI and ML practices
- Leading the design and implementation of AI/ML solutions to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization
- Mentoring and coaching team members on best practices in AI, machine learning, and technology adoption
- Participating in cross-functional teams to implement solutions that support business initiatives and improve operational performance
- Monitoring and optimizing the performance, scalability, and reliability of AI/ML systems to ensure high availability and quality
- Collaborating with IT and engineering teams to define standards, metrics, and principles that guide AI and ML practices
- Staying current on industry trends and best practices in AI, machine learning, digital transformation, and technology innovation to drive continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum Experience:
-10+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, automation, or related fields, preferably within mining and metals or industrial sectors.
