New Porgera Limited (NPL) has an immediate vacancy for
Specialist – Materials Coordinator - Maintenance Administration. A successful candidate must be detail-oriented and organized Construction Planner/Materials Coordinator to join our team. The materials Coordinator will play a critical role in planning and coordinating construction projects, ensuring that materials are procured and delivered efficiently to support project timelines and requirements. The candidate will join a dynamic team and will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive material plans for construction projects, including quantities, specifications, and delivery schedules
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to determine material requirements and timelines
- Procure materials from suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness
- Maintain accurate records of material orders, receipts, and expenditures
- Monitor inventory levels and anticipate upcoming material needs based on project schedules
- Conduct regular inspections of incoming materials to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
- Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to manage material storage and distribution
- Communicate effectively with project teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to address material-related issues and concerns
- Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with PJV Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health rules and procedures.
Qualifications And Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need;
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, supply chain management, or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in construction planning, materials coordination, or procurement
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Project for inventory management, data analysis and project planning
- Knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and building codes
- Familiarity with procurement processes, logistics, and supply chain management principles
Mobilization Requirements
- This position is open to PNG Citizens Only
- Rotation is FIFO, 21 days on and 14 days off
- Must Have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
