Job Description
The Area Manager – Maintenance provides leadership and management for all maintenance processes executed across Redpath Australia Projects. The role ensures maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards. It supports project teams, drives continuous improvement, strengthens capability, and maintains a consistent approach to maintenance performance across all sites.
Responsibilities
- Mobilisations and Demobilisations: Lead all maintenance and asset-related activities during project mobilisations and demobilisations, ensuring equipment readiness, compliance, and efficient delivery of these processes.
- Primary Escalation Point: Act as the escalation point for project maintenance teams, providing guidance, technical support, and issue resolution.
- Maintenance Process Audits: Conduct audits of project sites to review maintenance processes, work management practices, and compliance with company standards.
- Equipment Condition Audits: Assess equipment health and performance, identify risks, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Equipment Standards: Audit equipment standards across sites and provide support to ensure consistency is achieved.
- Failure Review & Prevention: Collaborate with Maintenance Coordinators and the Reliability team to review failures and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- KPI Review & Improvement Planning: Analyse monthly maintenance KPIs and work with key stakeholders to develop and execute improvement plans.
- Forecasting & Planning: Facilitate monthly maintenance forecasting meetings, ensuring accuracy of workloads, resources, parts, and budget alignment.
- Equipment Handover Compliance: Ensure all equipment handover processes are completed in accordance with company and client requirements.
- Incident Investigations: Participate in significant incident investigations, contributing technical expertise and corrective action planning.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development support to senior project maintenance personnel to strengthen capability across sites.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years in a management / superintendent role in underground mining.
