About the role
PART TIME JOB SHARE ROLE - 4 days on 7 off - 7 nights on 7 off. This roster which include: Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and 7days night shift is12 hour shifts.
Responsible for the movement of ore and waste rock within Mining (Open Cut) Operations in a diligent and competent manner whilst ensuring all activities are carried out in conformance with Evolution Mining’s cultural, safety and environmental policies in line with all mine consents, regulations and operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure efficient and compliant use of equipment operating time to achieve daily and weekly targets and outcomes
- Efficiently haul materials to the correct location to reduce ore dilution and ore loss
- Effective use of the Minestar GPS system and report any faults and discrepancies within the system
- Actively participate in initiatives to maximise efficiency and productivity of personnel and equipment
- Complete all relevant logs, sheets and documentation accurately and submit to the Leading Hand or Shift Supervisor each shift
- Analise and fully understand the task required and the expected outcomes prior to commencing task
- Ensure you are competent and fit to operate the machinery and perform the tasks required
- Attend and actively participate in all pre-start and safety toolbox meetings
- Actively participate in training and encourage others to do so
- Actively seek guidance and coaching from your Leading Hand, Shift Supervisor and others to improve your equipment operation skill levels and achieve accountabilities
- Provide good, clear and respectful communication lines between Leading Hand, Shift Supervisor, crew members, the technical group and other departments
- Correct use of PPE and encourage others to do so
- Ensure you are fit for duty with respect to fatigue, alcohol, drugs or injury
- Report all accidents and incidents are promptly to your Leading Hand or Shift Supervisor
- Compliance with environmental procedures and standards
About you
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor you will be part of a supportive team who pride themselves on efficiency, meeting targets and results. With excellent leadership in place, you will require the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Australian Motor Vehicle Licence
- Nationally accredited competencies in Mining (desirable)
- Cert IV TAE (desirable)
- Proven heavy equipment experience (driving a haul truck) in an open pit mining environment (desirable)
- Inexperienced applicants will also be considered
- At least 6 months of production experience, with familiarity to open cut mining/quarry operation (desirable)
- Ability to work a panelled roster
- Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic
- Alibility to understand/implement mine planning information
- Effective communication skills across the whole site
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills at all levels
- Ability to prioritise and schedule work
- The ability to cope with pressures and setbacks
- Contributing to team success and take pride in the group accomplishments
- Adapting and responding to change in a diverse mining environment
- The ability to challenge unsafe environments and behaviours in a respectful manner
