El Asesor de Control de Costos de Proyecto es responsable del desarrollo de estimaciones de costos del proyecto y cronogramas integrados, así como del monitoreo y control de actividades durante la ejecución del proyecto, incluyendo la previsión y elaboración de informes de costos y cronogramas en conformidad con el plan del proyecto.
El rol garantizará que el presupuesto del proyecto se gestione de manera eficaz y eficiente a lo largo de su ciclo de vida mediante el monitoreo, análisis y control de los presupuestos del proyecto, la previsión de contratos y el análisis de variaciones, apoyando la entrega del proyecto dentro de los presupuestos aprobados.
También será responsable de proporcionar informes precisos y oportunos, que serán cruciales para tomar decisiones informadas y a tiempo.
Responsabilidades y áreas clave de enfoque
- Desarrollo y gestión del presupuesto colabora con el Líder del Estudio y las partes interesadas para desarrollar presupuestos realistas basados en los requisitos, alcance y objetivos del proyecto.
- Responsable de establecer sistemas y procedimientos de control de costos para realizar el seguimiento del uso del presupuesto.
- Monitorea tendencias y eficiencia de recursos para informar decisiones estratégicas y mejorar los resultados del proyecto.
- Supervisa los costos reales del proyecto frente al presupuesto establecido, asegurando el registro preciso y oportuno de todos los gastos.
- Prepara informes regulares de costos, pronósticos y análisis de variaciones para informar al equipo del estado financiero.
- Proporciona pronósticos continuos de costos basados en el progreso actual del proyecto y los cambios anticipados. Analiza tendencias y riesgos potenciales, recomendando acciones correctivas para evitar sobrecostos.
- Revisa facturas de contratistas y proveedores para garantizar el cumplimiento de los términos del contrato y las asignaciones presupuestarias. Coordina aprobaciones de pagos y resuelve discrepancias según sea necesario.
Lo que necesitas para ser considerado/a para este rol
- Obligatorio título universitario en Ingeniería, Gestión de Proyectos, Administración de Empresas o un campo relacionado.
- Deseable estudios en Gestión de Proyectos, Ingeniería, Negocios o certificación en Costos.
- Experiencia de 5 a 10 años en proyectos, idealmente en los sectores minero o energético.
- Experiencia en estimación de costos, comprensión de presupuestos, pronósticos, informes y herramientas de seguimiento.
- Experiencia en procesos de adquisiciones y gestión de contratos.
- Fuertes habilidades analíticas para evaluar datos de costos, identificar tendencias y recomendar acciones correctivas.
- Precisión en el seguimiento de gastos, facturas y contratos para prevenir sobrecostos y garantizar transparencia.
- Éxito comprobado en entornos remotos y logísticamente complejos, típicos de operaciones en Colombia.
- Habilidades de negociación con proveedores, contratistas y suministradores para asegurar términos y controlar costos.

The Advisor Project Cost Control is responsible for the development of project cost estimates and integrated project schedules, and the monitoring and controlling activities during the execution of the project, including cost and schedule forecasting and reporting in conformance with the project plan.
The role will ensure that the project budget is managed effectively and efficiently throughout its lifecycle by monitoring, analyzing and controlling cost project budgets, forecasting contracts, analyzing variations supporting the project delivery withing the approved budgets.
They will also be responsible for providing accurate and timely reports, which will be crucial for making informed and timely decisions.
Responsibilities & key focus areas
- Budget development and management collaborate with the Study Lead and stakeholders to develop realistic budgets based on project requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Responsible for setting up cost control systems and procedures to track budget utilization.
- Monitor trends and resource efficiency to inform strategic decisions and enhance project outcomes.
- Monitors actual project costs against the established budget, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all expenditures. Prepares regular cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to inform the project team of financial status.
- Provides ongoing cost forecasting based on current project progress and anticipated changes. Analyzes trends and potential risks, recommending corrective actions to avoid cost overruns.
- Reviews of contractor and supplier invoices to ensure compliance with contract terms and budget allocations. Coordinates payment approvals and resolves discrepancies as needed.
What you will bring and require to be considered for this role
- Required Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
- Preferred studies in Project Management, Engineering, or Business or Cost certification.
- Experience 5-10 years in projects, ideally in mining or energy sectors.
- Experience in Cost estimation, understanding budgeting, forecasting and reporting and tracking tools.
- Experience in procurement process and contract management
- Strong analytical abilities to assess cost data, identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Accuracy in tracking expenses, invoices, and contracts for preventing cost overruns and ensuring transparency.
- Proven success in remote, and logistically complex environments typical of Colombia operations.
- Negotiating abilities with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to secure terms and control costs.
- Skilled in managing stakeholder interfaces and influencing internal and external partners, including joint ventures and government entities
- High autonomy in execution and problem-solving, with the ability to resolve scope, cost issues proactively.
- Strong communication skills in Spanish and English, with the ability to influence across all organizational levels.
