Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the Survey Leader is the main supervisor of the Open Pit surveyor team, within the Engineering department. She/he will lead the survey team in order to cumulate, prioritize, delegate and execute various tasks requested by various clients around the mine. The survey leader acts as a mentor and ensures adequate service quality for the clients. The leader must also allocate time to field work to assist the survey team and for work quality assurance audits. She/he will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Promote Health and Safety to the survey team by hosting meetings, conducting field visits and work card control, procedure redaction and developing incident/accident prevention initiatives
- Provide coaching to the survey team by way of technical and soft skill training
- Attend daily morning meeting to receive daily mine production survey requirements
- Plan and organize daily tasks for survey team based on task priorities internal and external to mine production
- Ensure survey quality and regular update of:
- Mine Status Map
- Waste Dump Status Map
- Site Map update
- Detailed Pit Status
- Stockpiles
- Aggregate Stockpiles (at end of month during crushing season and end of quarter otherwise)
- Surveyed cut and bootlegs (as soon as practical)
- Ensure adequate allocation of workforce and proper upkeep of the survey team work schedule
- Ensure the working order of all survey related equipment and order equipment and supplies as required
- Collaborate in the various budgeting and forecasting exercises and ensure adequate cost control of allocated budget

- College level technician diploma or higher, in mining or in a related field;
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in surveying, mining environments preferred;
- Good software skills: AutoCAD, Deswik, Maptek preferred;
- Supervisory experience along with good leadership skills;
- Must have project management skills, good organizational skills, high learning capacity, and problem-solving ability;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a SPEEXX English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
