Reporting to the Coordinator – Shovels and Excavators
, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and performance optimization of shovel fleets at Lumwana.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise daily activities of LMC technicians and OEM service teams involved in shovel maintenance.
- Manage and prioritize work orders, ensuring accurate documentation and timely approvals.
- Schedule and coordinate shovel repairs, component replacements, and major change-outs.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance planners and operations teams to align maintenance schedules and production plans.
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify opportunities for uptime improvement.
- Lead initiatives to maximize plant and shovel availability through process, systems, and planning improvements.
- Ensure shovel assets are maintained to OEM standards and operational requirements.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of a Craft Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical or other related Engineering field.
- Significant 6 years’ experience in Heavy Earthmoving Equipment maintenance.
- Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
- Experience supervising maintenance activities in a mining environment (shovels experience essential).
- Valid Zambian driver’s license.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate technical teams.
- Familiarity with maintenance planning systems and reliability principles. (E.g SAP, Pronto and proficiency in Excel)
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
