About The Role
The Mill Operations Planner centralizes planning and coordination for daily operations and shutdowns, creating structured lineups and managing permits, contractor activities, equipment rentals, and circuit control processes to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution across all shifts.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the mill operations planning calendar and shutdown timeline, including critical path, dependencies, and float jobs.
- Plan and publish structured operator lineups for operating and shutdown conditions, integrating coverage, sampling, circuit adjustments, and permit requirements.
- Prepare and issue complete operations work packs, including SOP/SWP/JHA documents, drawings, permit templates, rescue plans, LOTO sheets, and staging/kitting lists.
- Coordinate permit requirements with the Permit Coordinator and ensure all permit conditions are embedded in the lineups.
- Own LOTO readiness, ensuring isolation points are correctly labeled, approvals are verified, and field validation is scheduled.
- Plan and coordinate contractor activities (clean-up, confined space, hotwork, specialty services) and manage small equipment rentals and onboarding compliance.
- Maintain real-time shutdown execution tools, including the war-room Gantt and SIMOPS map, identifying risks and de-conflicting work fronts.
- Collect lessons learned and support shutdown close-out, ensuring start-up checklists, work order close-out data, and post-shutdown reports are completed and filed.
Job Qualifications
Key Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong working knowledge of site standards for permits, LOTO, and Working at Heights.
- Solid understanding of mill circuits (crushing, HPGR, grinding, leach/CIP, ADR, tailings).
- Proficiency with Oracle, CONFORMiT, Intelex, Excel/Power BI, and MS Project; Power Apps experience is an asset.
Relevant Experience
- Proven experience planning and coordinating mill operations and shutdown activities, including building execution timelines, operator lineups, and critical-path schedules.
- Strong background in permit governance and LOTO processes, with hands-on experience preparing work packs, validating isolation requirements, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate contractors, manage staging and logistics, and support real-time shutdown execution using tools such as Gantt tracking, SIMOPS mapping, and risk identification.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 + Bonus
