Wood is recruiting for a Project Operations Professional to join our Client team in Equatorial Guinea.
Reporting to the Facilities Engineering Manager. Providing technical skills and experience in production and maintenance operations to deliver operations assurance and provide input in all other deliverables. Working with the project teams to provide operational input in the evaluation of alternatives (Opportunity Shaping), project design philosophies, strategies, procedures, specifications, planning, and execution of commissioning and startup.
The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the POP (Project Operations Planning) process for operations and facilitates engagement with the Project Manager, Project Team members, and regional management, also assist with development, review and execution of Operations Management of Change (MOCs) and Project Management of Change (PMOCs).
Location: Equatorial Guinea, office based with offshore visits as required.
Rotation \ Work Pattern: 4 weeks on \ 4 weeks off.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Facilities Engineering Manager. Providing technical skills and experience in production and maintenance operations to deliver operations assurance and provide input in all other deliverables. Working with the project teams to provide operational input in the evaluation of alternatives (Opportunity Shaping), project design philosophies, strategies, procedures, specifications, planning, and execution of commissioning and startup.
- Owns the POP (Project Operations Planning) process for operations and facilitates engagement with the Project manager, project team members, and regional management.
- Organizes and coordinates selected Operations Assurance processes and engagements.
- Serves as a key resource to project engineering during the design phases of projects. Reviews documents - PFD's, P&IDs etc., participates in SID reviews, risk assessments, PHA and HAZOPS
- Participate in model reviews and equipment selection workshops (topsides and subsea).
- Participates in developing training materials and procedures for personnel who will operate and maintain the new equipment.
- Participate in developing the commissioning, startup, normal operating, and shutdown procedures for all assigned facilities.
- Ability to develop Safe Operating and Maintenance procedures that align with BU requirements for safely managing work done during the construction phase and in the transition from construction to an operating facility.
- Assists in training Operations and Maintenance personnel.
- Possibly attends major equipment Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) and reviews. May accept on behalf of Operations the vendor’s punch list before equipment is accepted and allowed to be shipped from the vendor’s shop.
- Provides in-depth definition of Operations and Maintenance requirements during project selection, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, testing and start-up of equipment.
- Represent Operations and Maintenance during subsystem handover (from pre-commissioning to commissioning) joint walkthroughs. Provides punch list input and monitors progress in closing out punch list items.
- Provides input into the integrated Project and turnaround schedules, execution plans, and operational readiness activities to ensure a smooth handover to the operations teams.
- Active participant in work selection and work refinement process.
- Contributes to the development of roadmaps, functional and event-specific milestone plans.
- Ability to serve as preservation lead and provide input into development of Preservation/Build it Clean, Keep it Clean (BICKIC) plans and procedures.
- Assists with development, review and execution of Operations Management of Change (MOCs) and Project Management of Change (PMOCs).
- Leads the Input and Approval process to facilitate and maintain alignment between the Operations Team and Project Teams as the project progresses through the Project Operations Planning Process for Opportunity Shaping, design, procurement construction, commissioning, testing and start-up of equipment.
- Ability to serve as the Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) Lead with development and execution
- Develop and/or provide input in Simultaneous Operation Plans (SIMOPS)
- Work with regional staff to minimize the impact to ongoing Production Operations during project and Turnaround activities in the execution phase.
- Provides technical input into systems/sub systems, equipment pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up sequences.
- Participate and provide input to the assets for facility optimization.
- Mentor and Train EG National staff as part of the Companies National Development program as required.

Essential Requirements For This Role
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree or relevant technical training is required
- Several years’ experience in in a similar role in offshore Production Operations with Subsea Operations
- Experience with simultaneous production and construction activities
Technical Competencies
- Advanced Knowledge of offshore topside and subsea production systems
- Advanced Knowledge of offshore topside and subsea maintenance activities
- Advanced Knowledge of Offshore Safe Work Practices
- Ability to work independently under limited supervision
Technical Skills & Requirements
- Team player, frequent interaction with and the ability to influence Contractors and Vendor personnel from multinational/ multicultural backgrounds.
- Operations experience with greenfield and brownfield Major Capital Projects and small projects.
- CMMS skills (SAP)
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to influence and drive changes in the project planning process.
- Ability to read, understand and follow schematics, technical manuals, procedures, P&ID’s, PFD’s and C&E Charts
Desirable
- BOSIET certification
- Ability to influence and drive changes in the project planning process.
- Communicate in a clear and effective manner using written and verbal English, Spanish language skills an advantage
- Ability to schedule, lead and facilitate meetings in person or via Microsoft Teams
- Ability to focus on the right priorities, work with Contractors to resolve issues and attain strategic objectives
