Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Exploration General Supervisor, you will be part of the Exploration team. You will play a vital role in managing the team and programs, supervising and actively participating in drill hole planning, geological interpretation, 3D modeling, exploration target generation, budget management and core logging/sampling. You will significantly contribute to the overall geological knowledge, ensuring compliance with QA/QC protocols and preparing detailed reports. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Work closely with senior management to plan and implement exploration programs;
- Manage exploration drill programs;
- Direct and document field studies, 3D modeling, geological interpretation, and laboratory testing;
- Import assay results into databases and models; ensure QA/QC protocols are respected;
- Create, validate, and implement various operating procedures;
- Create Scope of Work (SOW) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for upcoming programs; track invoices and contractor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
- Contribute to the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, press releases, corporate presentations, government exploration reports, and annual exploration reviews;
- Participate in employee evaluations and facilitate training and mentoring;
- Ensure the effective transfer of information between shifts;
- Conduct daily visits to work sites, drill sites, core logging facilities, and core cutting facilities to ensure safe operations;
- Ensure all Agnico Eagle's Health & Safety and Environmental policies are always respected by all employees and contractors at all work sites;
- Collaborate with internal departments and external contractors to ensure the safe and efficient execution of planned exploration activities.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering;
- 7 years of exploration experience;
- Background and knowledge of gold-related metallogeny, structural geology, geochemistry, and geophysics within Archean terrain (an asset);
- Professional Association membership in a Canadian province or territory;
- Knowledge of Leapfrog Geo, Datamine, DHLogger/Fusion, and ArcGIS;
- Database management skills: SQL and/or Python are considered an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Note that the official working language at our Meliadine Mine is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Location: Meliadine Mine
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
