Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Tailings EIT, you will be part of management of critical infrastructure (i.e. tailings, water management, and waste rock management infrastructure) and work closely alongside the environmental management team, project execution teams, and mine operations teams to support the execution of capital projects and operational tasks. You will ensure that the company goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Complete field work including water level measurements, construction layout, construction planning, tailings deposition planning, geotechnical instrumentation, and support the site wide water management planning activities;
- Prepare drawings or plans utilizing AutoCAD (Civil 3D or equivalent) within scope of practice;
- Support other surface departments (i.e. site services, projects, etc.) on an as needed basis regarding road design, stockpile estimation and other miscellaneous survey tasks;
- Willingness to learn/be involved with tailings and water management projects at the mine site.
What You Need To Succeed
- Previous experience (ideally 3-5 yrs) working in a heavy civil or mining environment supporting construction or engineering planning teams. Experience as a surveying or civil technician position is considered an asset;
- Fluent in reading, writing and speaking in English.
- Capable of transferring complex project information to various stakeholders and incorporating feedback.
- Consulting or operational mine site experience considered an asset;
- Background knowledge of any of the following is considered an asset: drone flights and data processing, 3D modelling (AutoCAD, Civil 3D or others), geotechnical instrumentation, and field monitoring or inspections;
- Experience working in large multifaceted work groups and on various projects during a single period;
- Capability to set up, operate and manage Trimble GPS systems;
- Experience with total stations is considered a benefit;
- Ability to work independently and willingness to learn new tasks;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and general computer usage especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

- Schedule: 4 days of work, followed by 3 days off at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON
