Rotation: 14 days on, 14 days off
Shift Length: 12 hours
Travel: Flight from airport closest to point of hire

Scope Of Work
Innu Inuit Redpath Limited Partnership (IIR) is mining contractor that operates projects in 2 underground mines located on the east coast of Labrador, approximately 350 km north of Goose Bay. The work consists of building/ installing mine infrastructure such as high pressure doors, regulator walls, wash bays, maintenance bays, fuel bay, etc.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Lead Journeyperson Electrician and the Journey person Electrical Supervisor, the primary role of a Journeyperson electrician is to install, wire, maintain & perform preventive maintenance and repairs to electric equipment on the surface and underground areas. The incumbent will also be required to work with PLC and communication systems.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Must be capable of reading & understanding electrical drawings
- Must have direct experience installing and maintaining:
- Troubleshoot and repair ventilation fans and mine pumps
- Electric/hydraulic mining equipment
- Phone and mine communication systems
- PLC and other advanced or automation systems
- High Voltage (600 V to 15,000 V) and Low Voltage Power and control systems
- Underground sub-stations
- Fabricate when required electrical panels and other necessary Installation of electrical cables
- Perform safely and timely emergency repairs to equipment
- Must be able to communicate written and verbal instructions to subordinates
- Must have skills to help train new employees and apprentices

Qualifications
- Journeyperon Red Seal Electrician certificate of competence for Industrial or Construction and Maintenance
- Minimum five years experience in an underground mining environment
- Ontario Hard Rock Underground Service Type Common Core (or other provincial equivalents)

- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
