Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Near Surface Electrical General Supervisor, you will be part of the Near Surface Maintenance Department. You will supervise and coordinate the maintenance and installation of underground electrical infrastructure, while ensuring work is being done safety, correctly and with minimal impact on site productivity. The electrical supervisor will enforce all safety policies and procedures and report directly to the electrical general supervisor. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Align work with budget and considerations that support the mine with safety and cost-conscious awareness;
- Perform daily performance coaching with employees to facilitate the best outcomes with employees’ input being supported and responsibilities devolved for specific workplace activities;
- Provide support for work to be completed by employees on the front line that is organized, planned, resourced with considerations of common sense and best practice with applied change management principles where applicable;
- Responsible and accountable for ensuring the reliability, operability and maintenance of defined assets and equipment;
- Accountable for managing coordinated work and establishing priorities with maintenance personnel to ensure minimal interruptions to the operation;
- Hold Team Leaders accountable for daily/weekly performance;
- Manage PM’s, repairs, and maintenance activities;
- Manage the operation from reactive maintenance to reliability maintenance footing;
- Apply Management of Change (MoC) principles to modification and any material changes to equipment or physical environment;
- Communicate effectively and provide positive reinforcement with crews in terms of safety, work procedures, expectations, productivity, and any relevant information to the employees work scope;
- Inspect work to provide positive reinforcement or identify training needs;
- Prepare cross shift handover appropriately by assembling parts and tagging/communicating accordingly;
- Communicate with General Supervisor all pertinent information for the safe continuation of work;
- Responsible for reporting each shift to the General Supervisor on progress, status and work completed and any safety issues identified;
- Remain aware of any hazards identified or any safety issues that need to be rectified, escalating with appropriate actions including reporting;
- Review timecards and sign, date and code accordingly – ensuring data is accurate in SIMS and appropriately reconcilable for audit purposes consistent with SOX compliance;
- Communicate effectively (Consult & Inform) with other department personnel to plan and schedule required work;
- Ensure that the crew is working safely and that all relevant information/support is given;
- All other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager from time to time;
- Create work orders and stock reservation.
What You Need To Succeed
- Appropriate Trade Qualifications- Licensed 309A;
- Microsoft Office Skills, Word, Excel and Powerpoint;
- Current and valid Drivers Licence;
- 7-10 years in supervisory role;
- Demonstrable Coaching and Leadership skills;
- Well-developed communication and ability to motivate operational ownership with other;
- Ability to make sound and educated decisions;
- Strong organizational skills.
