About Mount Milligan Mine
Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.

About The Opportunity
Mount Milligan is seeking a
Superintendent, Financial Reporting & Accounting who will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s end to end accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting within deadline and effective internal controls in-place, and compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies. This role leads month end, quarter end, and year end close processes; manages general ledger activities, fixed assets, AUC, product inventory, revenue recognition under IFRS 15, Leases IFRS 16, ARO calculations, and key operational and statistical reporting including MRO and cashflow analysis. The position provides leadership to accounting staff, manages internal and external audits, supports SAP FICO optimization, and works closely with site team to deliver efficient, reliable, and value-added financial services. The Superintendent proactively identifies accounting and reporting needs, drives continuous improvement, and contributes to strategic and operational decision making to support overall company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review the Monthly Report of Operations (MRO), Monthly/Quarterly business reviews, and supplementary reporting requirements.
- Prepare required statistical filings and regulatory submissions.
- Lead day‑to‑day accounting operations including general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll‑related accounting.
- Manage product inventory accounting including costing, reconciliations, and statistical reporting.
- Manage fixed asset accounting (capitalization, disposals, depreciation, AUC, PPE registers).
- Oversee revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS 15, ensuring appropriate assessment of contracts and performance obligations.
- Book Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) and prepare quarterly ARO sign‑off.
- Assist with supplies inventory analysis and booking of provisions.
- Support cashflow forecasting, analysis, and related reporting.
- Identify and prioritize accounting and reporting needs and set measurable objectives aligned with strategic and tactical plans.
- Perform additional duties as required in support of company objectives.
- Support continuous improvement and optimization of SAP FICO modules.
- Lead internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely responses and resolution of findings.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with the site team to ensure efficient and cost‑effective delivery of accounting services.
- Provide leadership in promoting teamwork across the finance function.
About You
- University bachelor’s degree or higher in Business or Accounting, required.
- CPA (or equivalent professional designation), required.
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading a finance team.
- Strong technical proficiency with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency with advanced reporting tools such as Oracle FCCS, SAP, and Workiva.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical skills for resolving complex accounting and operational issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of management.
- Strong leadership, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to promote teamwork and foster a collaborative environment.
Working Conditions - Remote/hybrid role, working 8-hours days, Monday to Friday, from your home office with occasional visits to the mine site.
- Strong ability to focus for extended periods while reviewing complex financial information.
- Good visual acuity for working with spreadsheets, financial systems, and detailed documents.
- Ability to attend and participate in extended meetings, sometimes requiring long periods of concentration.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer performing financial analysis, reporting, and administrative tasks.
- Frequent use of a keyboard, mouse, and computer screens.
- Periodic travel to the mine site, which may include exposure to:
- Uneven ground
- Noise, dust, or varying temperatures
- Standing or walking for extended periods
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during site visits (e.g., safety boots, hard hat, high‑visibility clothing, hearing protection).
- Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
