About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold District’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality. Key Responsibilities
- Promote and adhere to the Company’s Health, Safety and Environment Policies and Procedures.
- Open pit survey support including ore staking, pit/dump limits, drone flights and processing
- Prepare and present daily and weekly short range plans with coordination between multiple departments
- Drill and Blast design
- Fleet Management System and high precision GPS data corrections
- Regular pit and dump inspections to ensure compliance to plan and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Other tasks as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or similar field
- Valid driver’s license
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, growing work environment
- Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills, strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs would be highly regarded
Working Conditions
- Schedule is 14 on / 14 off (12 hour shifts)
