Your Next Challenge
- Conduct continuous visual watches for marine mammals and seabirds during daylight;
- Identify species to the lowest practicable taxonomic level and record all required information pertaining to the observation;
- Maintain and complete daily standardized wildlife observations log;
- Assist in collecting wildlife information in diverse environmental conditions;
- Wildlife observations will be performed on a shuttle vessel between Helicopter Island and Baker Lake. Workplace and accommodation will be on vessel for the duration of the contract;
- Maintain open communications with the vessel crew and the Environment Supervisor;
- Work safely, effectively, independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
- Follow Agnico Eagle and Shipping Company’s Health and Safety protocol.

What You Need To Succeed
- Some environmental field experience;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions;
- Ability to work on maritime vessel;
- Ability to identify marine mammal and seabird species;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written);
- Position reserved for Inuit Beneficiary candidates.
