Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Vice President – Operational Excellence, you will work closely with the various groups involved in developing projects that support Agnico Eagle’s growth strategies. You will be responsible for ensuring a standardized methodology for progressing projects throughout the various study phases, in order to bring these strategic projects to fruition.
In addition to leading studies, you will occasionally lead the preliminary development phase of projects, with the goal of preparing for the transfer to execution, in collaboration with the various organizational stakeholders. This role requires monitoring study budgets and schedules, as well as ensuring fluid communication among the different sectors of the organization.
- Lead and assign responsibilities to support the achievement of objectives across all sectors (Division – Technical Services – Corporate) to develop projects identified by the COO of the sector. During the execution phase, you will act as a support to their internal client.
- Collaborate with Technical Services and other departments such as Permitting and Community Relations, develops the organization’s project management capacity.
- Participate in the allocation and development of people involved in the projects under your leadership.
- Lead project teams assembled in collaboration with Technical Services: accountable for the delivery of assigned projects within the required timelines, budget, and expected outcomes.
- Ensure that risk assessment and technical reviews are conducted effectively.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s internal project management standards.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, procedures, and policies.
- Perform any other related duties requested by your supervisor.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering and/or membership in a recognized professional order in the mining field;
- Fifteen (15) years of experience in mining;
- Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset;
- Proven project leadership competencies.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at our Corporate Office in Toronto, ON. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
