This role will be located at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona.
Purpose of Role:
The Mine Operations Planner I is a critical support role within the Mine Operations team, focusing on the seamless planning and coordination of daily and weekly production activities, project logistics, materials procurement, and budget tracking. This position reports directly to the Mine Operations General Foreman and ensures that operational plans are efficiently executed and supported across all departments.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Operational Planning and Scheduling
- Assist the General Foreman and Mine Operations team with the development of detailed daily and weekly production schedules and operational planning.
- Coordinate projects within the mine site, managing timelines and resources necessary for completion.
- Compile and analyze daily production metrics and performance data for planning review.
- Logistics, Procurement, and Financial Support
- Manage the procurement of materials and supplies required for daily mine operations and planned projects.
- Track costs related to mining activities and projects, ensuring adherence to financial goals.
- Assist in the building and forecasting of project budgets in collaboration with the General Foreman and finance teams.
- Monitor equipment availability and usage to optimize scheduling and resource allocation.
- Cross-Departmental Coordination
- Facilitate communication and coordinate with various departments (including Maintenance, Geology, Survey, and Processing) to ensure alignment and resource availability for operational continuity.
- Reconcile planned vs. actual operational performance and report variances to the General Foreman.
- Maintain accurate records of coordination efforts, procurement logs, and project financial tracking
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- Experience and Education
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in mining, industrial planning, coordination, logistics, or project support role.
- Technical and Leadership Skills
- Strong organizational, planning, logistical, and time management skills.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, cost tracking, and reporting.
- Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Proficiency in cost tracking, budgeting principles, and using spreadsheet software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental coordination.
- Familiarity with mine operations, production workflows, or industrial procurement processes is a significant advantage.
- Work Environment and Other Requirements
- Must possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced field environment.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
