The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for Supervisor – Logistics, Lae with our Supply and Logistics section of the Supply and Business Services Department.
About The Role
We are now seeking an experienced and results-driven Supervisor – Logistics to lead and oversee our logistics and warehouse operations in Lae. This role is responsible for supervising daily transport coordination, warehouse control, inventory accuracy, and supply chain activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on leadership to logistics personnel, maintain operational discipline, and ensure all movements of goods, materials, and containers are executed in accordance with company standards and client requirements.
This is a key operational leadership role requiring strong coordination, reporting capability, and the ability to drive performance within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily logistics and warehouse operations, ensuring smooth inbound and outbound movements
- Lead and coordinate transport scheduling, shipment tracking, and delivery performance
- Oversee preparation and verification of shipping documentation (waybills, manifests, invoices, customs documentation)
- Ensure inventory accuracy through proper stock control, reconciliation, and reporting
- Monitor container movements, returns, and utilization efficiency
- Supervise fuel management and inventory reporting processes
- Liaise with transport contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues
- Ensure full compliance with safety, operational, and company procedures
- Monitor team performance, provide guidance, and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in deliveries, stock variances, and documentation
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline
- 3–6 years’ experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory capacity
- Strong working knowledge of transport coordination and inventory control systems
- Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel skills preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) is advantageous
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines

Mobilization Requirement
This is a PNG National position, a Lae -based role on a rotation of 5 days on and 2 days off. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (to be arranged only for successful candidates after the interview stage), and provide an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months). Candidates must be PNG Nationals and available to start immediately.
