Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, you will be part of the Ontario Regional Exploration Team. You will have a vital role in advancing exploration across all Ontario Regional Exploration properties by creating and overseeing our extensive and constantly expanding GIS datasets. You will be responsible for maintaining our Enterprise and Online datasets, supporting the compilation and digitization of historic and modern data, training geologists in GIS use, supporting mapping and field work, and optimizing how we use our data. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Create and support GIS data collection through compilation, digitization, and field activities;
- Maintain and ensure reliability of Enterprise and Online databases;
- Training of staff in GIS methods and tools;
- Develop GIS data architecture and metadata;
- Ensure all Agnico Eagle’s Health & Safety, Environmental and Cultural policies are respected by all employees and contractors at all work sites;
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with peers to ensure consistent messaging, uphold standards, and maintain unified operations in remote exploration environments.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering;
- 5 years’ of experience in geology;
- Must be a member of a Professional Association in a Canadian province or territory;
- Excellent knowledge of ArcGIS;
- Database management: SQL and/or python.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4/3 schedule based in Dobie, near Kirkland Lake, ON;
- Travel allowance is provided.
