A valid DMR Blasting Certificate
Supervisory certificate
Competent person A and B
A valid driver’s license
Medically fit for the role and environment
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
5 years of experience in underground production, with 3 years in stoping or charging.
Strong knowledge of explosives, drilling patterns, and safety regulations.
Ability to work in confined, high-pressure underground environments.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of Mine Health & Safety Act regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for scaling loose rock, operating mechanized equipment, maintaining ventilation, and preparing areas for subsequent shifts.
Inspect, scale and secure working areas to prevent accidents.
Drill holes to specific depth, lines and dips using hand-held or mechanized drills.
Install ground support such as mechanical jacks, safety nets, and timbers to stabilize the stope.
Clean blasted rock from the stope, ensuring proper transport and storage.
Identify, report and mage misfires and other hazards.
