Your Next Challenge
Reporting to Senior Civil Project Engineer, you will be part of the Capital Projects Department. You will be supporting the engineering, construction, commissioning and close-out of Projects. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Collaborate with Senior Project Engineers to provide field engineering support to the Construction Team;
- Assists Construction Superintendent and Supervisors with the execution of the capital projects portfolio including but not limited to on-site field inspections;
- Collaborate with QA/QC Specialists and third-party Vendors to ensure projects are built to specification;
- Support project estimates development, preparation and submission of Application for Expenditures requests;
- Collaborate with the procurement group to execute scopes of work, tenders, technical bid evaluations and assist with general contracts management;
- Support project schedule development in alignment with the business requirements;
- Support Construction Supervisors to manage construction activities, monitor daily progress, coordinate activities and resolve conflicts. Ensure adherence to all construction health, safety, security and environmental policies and comply with all applicable legal regulations;
- In collaboration with the Projects Cost Controller, Site Contract Administrators, manage project costs, review actuals to date provide forward looking projections, cost deviation and recommend remedial actions to stay on budget;
- Contribute to completion of project progress reports.
What You Need To Succeed
- Post-secondary education in engineering – Civil / Structural preferred;
- Utilize strong technical and engineering knowledge to support project development phases;
- 2-3 years’ experience in engineering/construction;
- Previous experience in mining and gold process plants an asset;
- Communication and presentation skills (oral and written) that include report writing and presentation;
- Interpersonal, problem solving, customer service orientation and team skills;
- Conceptual abilities and capacity to develop creative solutions;
- Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines;
- Solid report writing, communication and presentation skills;
- Effective problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, AutoCAD & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 7/7 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
