Manages and leads the planning activities of projects in execution with an EPCM delivery model, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
The purpose of this role is to provide specialized support in project planning, scheduling, and control, including scope management, change management, progress, and forecasts. The specialist ensures the integration and consistency of project information to positively influence the achievement of objectives within the established schedule and budget, raise alerts and identify inconsistencies, validate, control, and/or reject progress reports submitted by the EPCM.
• Support the PC&A Lead and/or Project Manager in defining project control objectives, planning strategies, and the Master Schedule structure, ensuring proper identification of critical activities, interfaces, and paths impacting the Critical Path (CPM).
• Administer and maintain the project schedule using recognized methodologies and tools (CPM, EVM, Schedule Risk Analysis, etc.), ensuring logical coherence, link integrity, valid constraints, and alignment with corporate standards and EPCM contract requirements.
• Monitor and report on project performance using advanced indicators (SPI, CPI, VOWD, productivity indices, schedule variances).
• Establish and update schedule and cost baselines in accordance with Integrated Change Control procedures, ensuring traceability and robust information governance.
• Perform predictive analysis and forecasting of schedule performance, including scenario simulations, trend analysis, quantitative schedule risk assessments (SRA), and evaluation of impacts on critical milestones.
• Identify and communicate early warnings regarding deviations in construction sequences, uncontrolled changes, execution constraints, emerging risks, and discrepancies in EPCM or Owner Team schedules and reports.
• Conduct schedule technical reviews and audits (Schedule Health Checks), assessing logic integrity, relationship density, out‑of‑sequence work, float distribution, resource curves, histograms, and alignment between physical progress and planned progress.
• Consolidate and analyze information from internal and external stakeholders, generating executive reports, performance dashboards, S‑curves, and technical‑contractual documentation aligned with corporate governance.
• Ensure proper technical data management, including data capture, classification, version control, integrity, traceability, and storage, following corporate data governance and quality standards.
• Facilitate workshops, technical reviews, and modeling sessions, using visualization tools, technical storytelling, and analytical techniques to support tactical and managerial decision‑making.
• implement Change Control procedures, assessing impacts on schedule, cost, construction sequence, operational constraints, and interfaces, ensuring integration with Project Controls processes and corporate standards.
• Technically evaluate critical paths, proposed timelines, and construction strategies developed by the EPCM contractor, Owner Team, or other stakeholders, assessing their rationality, operational feasibility, and alignment with the Integrated Project Plan.
• Identify technical capability gaps within teams and propose targeted training plans to enhance planning and project control maturity.
• Participate in the definition, monitoring, and analysis of key KPIs (Main KPIs, Process KPIs), ensuring alignment with corporate standards and effectiveness for governance and performance evaluation.
• Integrate technical and performance data into decision‑making reports, ensuring alignment across schedule, cost, risk, and scope of dimensions.
