Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Project Lead - Capital Projects, you will be part of the Finance Department. You will support the Project Lead - Capital Project in managing the CAPEX process including the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions of the organization. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Prepare report and analysis to assist management in understanding CAPEX departmental costs.
- Ensure accuracy of project costs and forecast by working in close collaboration with the various stakeholders.
- Participate in the preparation of short and long term financial budgets and forecasts, including supporting business form preparation, analysis and consolidation, as well as the review of the CAPEX envelope in collaboration with the Project Lead - Capita Project
- Support the capital expenditures process in accordance with the corporate policy.
- Assist with economic justifications for capital expenditures as required and ensure appropriate documentation and filing of the capital expenditures request
- Oversee the project to ensure compliance with Agnico Eagle’s financial processes (internal controls, policies and procedures, accounting standards);
- Support financial reporting activities, including the validation of monthly CAPEX costs accuracy while delivery on schedule
- Support financial reporting activities, including the production of monthly statements for the project costs follow-up and the explanation for variances.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Mining Engineering with a MBA or CFA.
- CPA designation is considered an asset;
- 3-5 years in a financial/accounting field;
- Good knowledge of accounting principles is considered an asset;
- Mining experience is considered an asset;
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Note that the official working language at our Nunavut operations is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda or Mirabel, QC. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
