Your impact
As Lead Digital, you will play a critical role in enabling safe, reliable, and high‑performing operations through the leadership and optimisation of digital and IT infrastructure. Your work will directly support business continuity, operational efficiency, and future growth by ensuring technology systems are secure, resilient, and aligned with Newmont’s strategic objectives.
You will act as a trusted advisor to site and business leaders, translating operational needs into scalable digital solutions while championing continuous improvement, cybersecurity, and innovation.
As part of our team you will
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of digital systems across site operations
- Bring teams together by fostering collaboration, shared ownership, and strong working relationships across site and corporate stakeholders
- Monitor and improve user satisfaction by gathering feedback, tracking service performance, and driving continuous improvement across end-user technology services
- Lead the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimisation of site IT infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Microwave, Wi‑Fi, and other communication systems
- Collaborate with regional and corporate IT teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and strategies
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimise unplanned downtime
- Plan and deliver infrastructure upgrades and expansions with minimal operational disruption
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships, ensuring strong performance against SLAs
- Monitor system performance, identify optimisation opportunities, and implement improvements
- Lead, mentor, and develop a technical team, fostering a culture of safety, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, regulatory obligations, and cybersecurity standards
- Manage and oversee the site digital infrastructure budget to support critical operational priorities
Prerequisites for your success in the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Master’s degree or equivalent post‑graduate qualification preferred
- Extensive experience leading IT infrastructure and network operations in a complex industrial or operational environment
- Strong technical expertise across networking, communications systems, and infrastructure platforms
- Experience in vendor management and working with OEMs and third‑party service providers
- Demonstrated people leadership capability, including coaching, performance management, and workforce planning
- Proven ability to manage budgets, projects, and competing priorities
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices in operational technology environments
Your work environment
This role is based at Boddington Gold Mine and operates on a 5/2, 4/3 roster. You will be part of a high‑performing processing and technology team within a complex gold operation that prioritises safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Village accommodation is available for the ideal candidate.
