Your impact
Reporting to the Supervisor Geologist, in the position of Exploration Geologist, you will be responsible for executing and supervising exploration programs, interpreting geological data, and delivering meaningful insights that inform decision‑making across the business.
This is a hands‑on technical role where you’ll balance field execution, data interpretation and planning, while working closely with site teams, enterprise technical experts and external partners. You’ll also contribute to developing junior geologists and building consistent, high‑quality exploration capability.
As part of our team you will
- Design and supervise exploration programs to ensure delivery against approved objectives, schedules and technical standards
- Monitor exploration performance against KPIs, providing clear reporting, analysis and recommendations
- Supervise exploration and contractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety, contractual and technical requirements
- Compile, assess and interpret geological, geochemical and analytical data to generate accurate, actionable insights
- Plan, schedule and deliver exploration work programs across a 3‑month to 1‑year planning horizon
- Provide mentoring, training and technical guidance to junior geologists
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets, long‑term work programs and business plans
- Report on program progress and support implementation of technical recommendations
- Collaborate with internal technical specialists, site teams and external service providers
- Demonstrate visible felt leadership in health, safety, sustainability and external relations
Prerequisites for your success in the role
- Professional degree in Geological Science or a related discipline
- Eligible for registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. PGeo), or qualified for immediate registration
- Experience in exploration management, strategic planning, and brownfields exploration
- Experience designing, supervising and delivering exploration programs, including performance tracking
- Strong ability to analyse complex datasets and translate findings into meaningful technical insights
- Exposure to data visualisation and geological modelling tools such as Leapfrog, along with logging and geological database software (e.g. Acquire), is desirable
- Sound knowledge of exploration management practices, regulatory compliance requirements and emerging technologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to non‑technical audiences
- A practical, hands‑on problem‑solving mindset with strong judgement and attention to detail
Your work environment
This role is based at Boddington Gold Mine and operates on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster. You will be part of a high-performing processing team within a complex gold operation that prioritises safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Village accommodation is available for the ideal candidate.
