Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the General Supervisor, Engineering, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will act in a leadership role of the production engineering technical team to support and integrate all the different department visions and goals. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
- Promote Health and Safety by participating in and hosting the monthly Departmental H&S meeting;
- Supervise, mentor and coordinate Survey Leaders, Drill and Blast Engineers, Mining Technicians and Students / Interns;
- Short Range Planning; Responsible for Weekly Mine Planning;
- Audit and coach team on task performance and continuous improvement opportunities;
- Conduct various HR related activities including development and improvement plans, mid and end of year evaluations;
- Implement and promote initiatives following the principles of Briefing, Inspection, Planning, Decision, Execution & Follow-Up;
- Establish, approve & maintain process mapping and procedures required by the team;
- Promote, maintain, optimize and contribute towards Engineering works review/approval process;
- Collaborate in the various budgeting and forecasting exercises and ensure adequate cost control of allocated budget;
- Completion of various other projects assigned by the Engineering General Supervisors.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or other relevant discipline;
- 7+ years of work experience in Open Pit Engineering;
- Proven track record in operational mining projects;
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and mine design/planning software (experience working with Deswik is considered an asset);
- Being a member of a Canadian engineering society and eligible for NAPEG membership is considered an asset.

Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
