Job Description
The IT Business Analyst role is to support the Business Applications team in the planning, design, development, and support of efficient business systems within core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. This role is responsible for defining, implementing, and continuously improving quality assurance practices across projects and teams. This role combines hands‑on testing expertise, test strategy leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure products meet functional, performance, security, and reliability standards before deployment. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.
Responsibilities
Health and Safety:
- Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
- Following Company health and safety standards and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions
Strategy And Planning
- Define the QA strategy, test approach, and quality metrics across assigned products or programs
- Establish and enforce QA standards, best practices, and governance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for quality‑related risks, thresholds, and release readiness decisions
- Meet with decision makers, system owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations testing requirements
Operations Management
- Lead creation of test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for functional, integration, regression, performance, and UAT testing
- Coordinate end‑to‑end testing across systems, environments, and teams
- Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and releases
- Oversee test execution and ensure timely, accurate reporting of results
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives to enhance solutions that address existing and potential trouble areas in systems across the organization, proposing solutions that are feasible and scalable
- Prepare status reports where required
- Perform in-depth tests for modified and new system
- Work with and assist project teams on implementation or upgrades of new and existing business solutions
- Follow proper change management processes when performing any changes to solutions
- Other duties as required to support the IT Business Applications team
Qualifications
Education
Required: College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, or management information systems and 5 years related work experience.
Work Experience
- Required: 3+ years’ experience in deployment and support of software systems implementations within a global environment (cloud, hosted and on-premise platforms)
Knowledge Required
- Hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g. REST/API automation)
- Solid experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Octane)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Oracle Fusion Knowledge (technical, ERP, HCM) including basic functional knowledge of related modules (GL, AR, AP, PPM, SCM, OTL, Core HR, Talent, Recruitment, Absence)
- Knowledge and hands on experience in applications such as Oracle Fusion, Hyperion Financial Management, Oracle EPM, InEight Cloud, SharePoint, Intelex Safety, E-Front LMS, PowerBi, Big Data applications is beneficial to this role.
- Demonstrated project management skills; Business Analysis and Project Management Fundamentals training or PMP designation considered an asset
