Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. The Opportunity
As the Manager of Finance Business Partnership at Geita Gold Mining Limited, you will play a pivotal role in steering the Finance function towards strategic and operational excellence within the Africa Business Unit. This leadership position requires managing a dedicated team to deliver insightful business analysis and proactive financial partnership, directly influencing site performance and operational success. Your expert oversight will span advanced planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and driving continuous performance improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting
- Define, implement and oversee a comprehensive advanced financial planning framework, ensuring seamless alignment with regional and corporate objectives to support the mine's strategic direction.
- Lead the development of precise annual budgets through close collaboration with cross-functional departments, reflecting the operational realities and strategic priorities of Geita Gold Mining.
- Guide the evolution of advanced rolling forecasts, integrating both macroeconomic and microeconomic factors to provide enhanced accuracy and strategic foresight.
- Influence and coordinate the annual business plan, operating budget, and revised forecasts to optimize financial resources and support business priorities efficiently.
- Oversee and support strategic decision-making for site and regional business plans, ensuring robust financial alignment and risk management.
- Monitor actual financial performance against approved budgets, provide variance analysis, and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
Performance Management & Reporting
- Lead the generation of comprehensive, accurate financial and operational reports at the site level, ensuring excellence in data integrity and delivering insightful analyses to senior executives and cross-functional partners.
- Champion the design and implementation of advanced performance management systems using cutting-edge tools and analytics technologies to streamline reporting processes and enhance decision-making efficiency.
- Conduct thorough business analysis to identify strategic improvement opportunities that boost profitability, operational efficiency, and overall regional performance.
- Develop and implement forward-thinking performance management initiatives, driving productivity and operational excellence across departments.
- Leverage sophisticated data analytics to identify trends, anticipate challenges, and make evidence-based recommendations aligned with business goals.
- Evaluate the financial feasibility of key strategic projects including expansions and scenario planning to optimize capital investments and enhance long-term value creation.
Delivery, Team and Stakeholder Relationships
- Maintain exceptional standards of data integrity, professionalism, and timely communication to all stakeholders, fostering transparency and trust.
- Build robust relationships and partnerships with business leaders and cross-functional teams to embed sound financial strategy throughout the mine's operational spectrum.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial business partnership tools, ensuring the team is equipped with effective resources for superior delivery.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of Finance Business Partnership Analysts and Specialists, promoting career growth and ensuring quality output and balanced workload distribution.
- Support and respond to ad-hoc executive requirements with agility, delivering insightful financial analyses and recommendations.
- Coordinate and facilitate financial review meetings with senior leadership to align on performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications, Certifications & Professional Memberships
- A relevant Finance or Management Accounting degree demonstrating strong academic foundations.
- Professional designation such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
- Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or master’s degree in finance are preferred and valued.
Experience & Skills
- A proven track record of 5-7 years in financial forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting within operational environments.
- Substantial experience, at least 5 years, in financial roles within the mining industry, with a clear understanding of mining operations and value chains.
- Demonstrated expertise in cost management, advanced financial analytics, and financial modeling, applying complex insights to optimize both financial and operational outcomes.
- Proficiency in advanced financial systems and tools such as Excel, TM1, and HFM to drive accuracy and efficiency.
- Experience managing and developing cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Successful track record in leading cross-functional cost improvement initiatives with measurable impact.
