|
OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
Support geological and geotechnical exploration activities across field campaigns, drilling programs, and Core Yard operations to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant exploration outcomes.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead HSE compliance by conducting toolbox meetings, identifying hazards with the team, and implementing control measures.
- Perform in-field geological mapping; assist with rock sampling and accurate recording of geological information, including GPS.
- Oversee drill site preparation and Technician 1 to deliver quality access roads and drilling platforms, adhering to steep terrain procedures.
- During drilling, document diamond core recovery, oversee RC sampling quality and best practices, and verify rig setup and collar alignment.
- Conduct geotechnical logging and Core Yard activities; manage sampling and preparation for laboratory analysis; keep the project geologist informed of drilling progress.
- Support ground geophysical surveys and downhole survey quality control; communicate deviations; coach subordinates and stop work when unsafe.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Diploma in Geology or Geoscience related fields.
- Extensive equivalent field experience in the same field for Secondary School Certificate holders.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of working experience for Diploma holders.
- Over 7 years working experience in exploration drilling environments, geotechnical logging, and field data collection for Secondary School Certificate holders.
Knowledge & Skills
- Computer literacy in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Good experience in exploration drilling operations, geotechnical logging, and field data collection.
- Strong commitment to HSE practices and operational standards.
- Driving experience with valid Tanzanian driving license or mine site driving permit (mandatory).
- Able to work with minimal supervision and lead small teams.
- Tanzanian Citizen.
