Position Overview
The Sustainability Analyst supports Coeur Mining’s sustainability programs, with a focus on data management, external reporting and environmental performance initiatives. The role works closely with site teams and corporate stakeholders to support industry standard submissions, maintain sustainability documentation and contribute to biodiversity‑related initiatives across the portfolio. Reporting to the Manager, Sustainability, the Sustainability Analyst supports consistent, high‑quality sustainability reporting across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Support structured data collection, validation and documentation for Coeur’s annual Responsibility Report and other sustainability‑related disclosures
- Coordinate and support annual submissions against mining and sustainability performance standards, including Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) and other evolving industry frameworks
- Collaborate with site teams, corporate functions, and external partners (as applicable) to gather inputs and ensure alignment on sustainability reporting requirements
- Lead development of responses to external information requests and submissions to ratings agencies, including coordinating inputs, managing timelines and maintaining supporting records
- Support internal benchmarking initiatives, including compiling peer data, tracking methodologies and assumptions and maintain internal reference materials to inform strategy and reporting
- Support Coeur’s biodiversity responsibility initiatives, including coordinating annual updates to the Biodiversity Management Standard, managing biodiversity risk assessments in collaboration with site teams and external consultants, and reviewing technical and scientific reports and consolidating biodiversity metrics to support annual reporting
- Assist with alignment to relevant sustainability and responsible mining frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, ICMM principles, TSM, GISTM, TCFD/TNFD)
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of sustainability reporting processes, data quality and governance practices
- Perform other sustainability‑related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, natural resource management, engineering or a related field
- 3 years of experience in sustainability reporting, environmental sciences or related roles
- Familiarity with sustainability and responsible mining standards and frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TSM, ICMM principles, GISTM, TCFD/TNFD)
- Familiarity with sustainability data reporting or management systems (e.g. Intelex), including experience with data collection, validation or reporting workflows
- Foundational knowledge of biodiversity, environmental science or nature‑related topics, with the ability to apply concepts in a reporting or risk assessment context
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage documentation and data accurately
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional and geographically dispersed teams
- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel, for data tracking and reporting support
- Willingness to learn and adapt as sustainability standards and reporting expectations evolve
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a structured, detail-oriented manner
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the mining industry or other natural resource‑based sectors
- Spanish language skills
The salary range offered for this role is CAD $80,000 - $950,000 range. The salary range is a good-faith estimate. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Coeur Mining will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Coeur Mining. Coeur Mining provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits, health benefits, paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Coeur Mining also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
