Boomtruck Operator

Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. Join Us in Supporting Safe and Efficient Underground Production!
Are you experienced in underground mining and boomtruck operation? Do you thrive in a safety‑focused, team‑oriented environment? If you take pride in keeping underground workplaces supplied, organized, and efficient, this is the opportunity for you.
Role Overview
As an Underground Boomtruck Operator, you will play a critical role in supporting underground production by safely operating boom trucks and transporting materials throughout the mine. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, you will ensure materials are delivered accurately and efficiently to support daily production activities while maintaining high standards of safety and equipment care.
Key Responsibilities
Material Handling & Logistics
- Safely transport materials underground as directed.
- Load, secure, and unload materials properly using a boom truck.
- Remove scrap material from underground storage areas.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels in underground storage areas and report material needs to the Supervisor.
Equipment Operation & Care
- Safely operate boom trucks in underground conditions.
- Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
Reporting & Communication
- Accurately document and report all materials moved.
- Communicate material requirements and operational concerns to the Supervisor.
Safety & Support
- Work in full compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
- Support underground production crews by keeping work areas supplied and organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
What You Bring To The Table
- Basic Common Core accreditation is an asset
- Specialty Common Core accreditation is an asset
- Underground mining experience is an asset
- Demonstrated proficiency operating boom trucks (preferred).
- Strong safety focus and commitment to safe work practices.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely perform physical work in an underground mining environment.
- Handling and securing materials and equipment as required.
