Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, you will be part of the Health & Safety Department and collaborate with other departments of the mine including construction and exploration. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the Environment.
- Plan, deliver and conduct training on the safe use of Heavy Equipment (Loaders, Haul Trucks, Tractor Trailer etc.)
- Plan, deliver, and conduct safety related training such as LOTO, Fall Protection and Confined Space
- Ensure training programs meet legislative requirements
- Continuous improvement of training programs
- Maintain accurate records and update position-based training matrix
- Play a leadership role in promoting a positive Health and Safety culture;
- Review safety related incidents and ensure appropriate level of investigation is performed, corrective measures implemented, and when required facilitate post incident ICAM investigation
- Perform workplace inspections and audits on the implementation of H&S tools (Job Hazard Analysis, Job Task Observation);
- Perform other such duties as may be assigned to the H&S General Supervisor.
What You Need To Succeed
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role or suitable equivalent experience operating equipment
- Proven competency in training and assessment
- Train the Trainer certification or ability to obtain it.
- Experience in the mining industry;
- Strong organizational and time management skills & the ability to continually prioritize workload
- Eligible for a WSCC Nunavut Supervisor Level 2 Certificate;
- Underground experience is considered an Asset
- Previous Emergency Response experience is considered an Asset
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
- Autonomous and can handle several responsibilities at the same time
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written).
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from Edmonton, AB and Yellowknife, NWT.
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
