On Saturday the rocket flew successfully flew to the International Space Station and delivered its cargo. But the rocket's next mission—landing on a floating barge in the ocean so the rocket could be reused—did not go as planned.

Footage shows the rocket landing hard on a 45 degree angle and blowing apart. Musk, the CEO on SpaceX, joked that the footage was "begging to be released."

Musk is sanguine about the failure posting a caption with a video clip on Vine: "close but no cigar." He says the company will try again.
