ABB commissions first gearless mill drives project in Canada
ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has completed commissioning of the first gearless mill drive (GMD) system operating in Canada. The GMD powers a 38-foot semiautogenous (SAG) mill at the Canadian Malartic gold mine, which is owned by Osisko Mining Corporation. Engineering, delivery and commissioning of the complete 19 megawatts GMD system are worth more than $20 million. Read more
