AusAmerican Mining advances rare earth project in Arizona

Australian-American Mining Corporation Limited has advanced its Rare Earth Elements (“REE’s”) project situated in West-Central Arizona, USA. This project, which until now has been known as the North claim project but will now be referred to as the La Paz Rare Earth Project, is located in La Paz County in the West-Central section of the state of Arizona. It is approximately 120 miles west-north-west of Phoenix. AusAmerican have staked over 1,300 acres (527 hectares) comprising 63 unpatented blocks and a prospecting permit over one section (640 acres / 259 hectares) of State Trust Lands.

Mesa Exploration receives metallurgical report for lithium, potash project

Mesa Exploration Corp. (TSX-V: MSA) is pleased to announce the receipt of a report outlining a conceptual metallurgical process for the Green Energy mineral brine project prepared by Dr. Richard Hammen of IntelliMet LLC. The report summarizes a processing plan utilizing molecular and ionic separation and reverse osmosis for extracting lithium, potash, magnesium, boron and bromine from the mineral-rich brine. Metallurgical testing will be performed based upon the report on the brine recovered from the upcoming drilling program to verify chemical composition and determine process factors such as recovery and optimum flow rates.

Yamana Gold provides 2011 exploration update

Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI; NYSE:AUY; LSE:YAU) today announced mid-year highlights from its 2011 exploration program at existing operations, development projects and a new discovery, Arco Sul in Brazil.The company’s exploration budget was increased by approximately 25% to $105 million which was announced in May, 2011. This increase partially resulted from the significant cash flow being generated by the company and the success of the 2010 program as well as the success already achieved in 2011.

Kalia magnetite tonnage increases by 71%

A drilling program at Bellzone Mining plc’s (AIM:BZM) Kalia Mine in the Republic of Guinea, West Africa, has indicated a 71% increase in the company’s estimate of the magnetite tonnage available from 3.74 billion tonnes to 6.4 billion tonnes, placing Kalia amongst the largest iron ore deposits of its kind in the world. An 18,000m diamond drilling infill program commenced in Q3 2010 to increase the existing 690 million tonne measured and indicated component of the 3.74 billion tonne magnetite JORC resource. The company is pleased to announce that the work is proceeding to schedule and the programme is on track to deliver an increased M&I JORC magnetite resource in Q3 2011.
