Forget the precious metals market; a British Columbia company is hoping to cash in on rubies and sapphires in Greenland. On Wednesday, Vancouver-based True North Gems Inc. (TSX-V:TGX) reported a favourable pre-feasibility study for its Aappaluttoq ruby and pink sapphire project in the Arctic country.

Conway Resources announced on Wednesday that it has received a certificate of authorization from Quebec's Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks for development work at its Belleterre gold mining project and will start construction of the surface facilities this week.

BIV reports: Less than a year has passed since Vancouver junior Edgewater Exploration (TSX-V:EDW) picked up a gold property in Spain and already the company has increased reserves there 400%. On Tuesday, industry veteran and Edgewater president and CEO George Salamis said the company’s Corcoesto property contained some 325,000 ounces of gold in measured and indicated categories, and more than 1.1 million ounces in an inferred category.
