Bateman Engineering wins $44.6 mln deal from BHP Billiton Energy Coal S Africa
CNNMoney.com reports that LONDON, Apr. 11, 2008 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) — Bateman Engineering N.V. said it has won a contract valued at about 348 million South African rand ($44.6 million) from BHP Billiton (NYSE:BHP) Energy Coal South Africa Ltd. for the supply of two stockyards as part of the coal handling infrastructure for its Douglas-Middelburg Optimisation Project located in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
Work is expected to start shortly and the project is due to be completed by the first half of 2010, it added.
